Hi, my name is Alex
I started Fork U Designs in 2018. I had been forced to leave my job due to disability. It takes a long time to get used to being home everyday and instead of just watching TV or playing video games I began doing flatware jewelry.
I made a variety of spoon rings and various pendants due to the influence of an old girlfriend who used to buy those types of things. I started cutting silhouettes in spoon bowls and making those as pendants.
As time went on and I became better at my craft I moved into silver coins. I usually use pre damaged Canadian coins and occasionally have coins from other countries as well. After awhile of cutting coins. I found a love for casting. While I don’t offer many can’t items as I work on such small scale, I can and do occasionally list them as well.
These days I live fairly isolated in an old mostly abandoned mining village. Here I live with my dog Freki, and my 10 chickens. The chickens are for eggs. Except Bruce. Obviously, he doesn’t lay eggs. He does yell a lot though. While some days can be difficult, due to loneliness, chronic pain, poor mental state. I carry on and enjoy seeing where my jewelry goes around the world.
I have sold on Etsy for a few years now and shipped to most Canadian provinces, American states, Italy, England, Scotland, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Norway, and Australia. It is my dream to ship to every country at some point. Hopefully I can make it happen.
I am a big fan of anime, horror movies, kpop, jpop, David Bowie and video games. Probably not what you expect from a 50 year old. I will be posting videos of life here on YouTube. Cooking, chickens, jewelry work, work around my property, some scenery and the odd topic I found interesting. Hopefully if you find my work interesting you can join me there.
